Conference Contenders against FC Dallas at Rio Tinto Stadium;
Home-and-Home with “Hoops” Continues in Lamar Hunt
U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinals Next Tuesday in Texas
SANDY, Utah (Tuesday, July 5, 2011) – While there are
plenty of talking points to take away from Monday’s memorable 3-3 draw with New
England, Real Salt Lake (7-3-6, 27 pts.; 4th in West) must
forget about that contest in short order, as the Claret-and-Cobalt will return
to action this Saturday, July 9 at Rio Tinto Stadium with the
first of two massive contests in four days’ time against a red-hot FC Dallas
squad (10-4-4, 34 pts.; 2nd in West).
Rio Tinto will proudly present Saturday’s
rematch of last fall’s 2010 Western Conference Semifinals Series, with kickoff
in Sandy set for 7:00 p.m. MT and the Carnival Real pre-game
festival on the stadium’s East Lawn starting the festivities at 5:00 p.m.
Tickets for the contest between two of the top MLS Supporters Shield contenders
remain available and can be purchased online at www.RealSaltLake.com, over the phone at 801-727-2700 or in person at the Rio Tinto Stadium Box
Office weekdays from 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. MT and on gameday beginning at
10:00 a.m.
Saturday’s MLS fixture will precede a
“win-or-go-home” contest between the two sides next Tuesday, July 12, in
the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinal Round, with that “return leg”
of the home-and-home against the “Hoops” at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas,
set for 7:00 p.m. MT.
