REAL SALT LAKE FALLS 0-1 TO HOUSTON DYNAMO IN MLS RESERVE LEAGUE PLAY
Early Goal by Mike Chabala Lifts Dynamo Reserve to Second Win in 2011, RSL Reserves to Second Straight Defeat

SANDY, Utah (Saturday, May 14, 2011) – The MLS Reserve League sides for Real Salt Lake and the Houston Dynamo met for a late evening kickoff at Rio Tinto Stadium that saw the Dynamo emerge victorious 1-0 courtesy of an early goal by defender Mike Chabala. Houston forward Jason Garey garnered the game-winning assist on the 14th minute play after passing to Chabala, who chipped RSL goalkeeper Kyle Reynish from the edge of the penalty arc for what turned out to be the game’s lone tally. Dynamo goalkeeper Tyler Deric tallied a shutout on the evening thanks to his five-save effort.

With the result, Houston notched its second win in Reserve League play in three contests, while Real Salt Lake’s second straight defeat brought its record to 1-3-0. Both squads will face off against FC Dallas for their next match in Reserve League action, with RSL playing the “Hoops” next Sunday, May 22, at Pizza Hut Park (following first-team match), while the Dynamo will host the intra-Texas affair against Dallas on Sunday, May 29 (10:00 a.m. CT).
