SANDY, Utah (Tuesday, April 26, 2011) – More than eight months after entering the CONCACAF Champions League for the first time, Real Salt Lake has a golden opportunity to claim the continental club crown in its maiden voyage when the Utahns play host for the second and ultimate leg of the competition’s Final Round against Mexican side Monterrey on Wednesday, April 27. Kickoff from at Rio Tinto Stadium is set for 8:00 p.m. MT for a SOLD OUT match that will be televised live on FOX Soccer and TeleFutura. The much-anticipated showdown for regional club supremacy can also be tracked live via the following outlets:

Thanks to RSL MF Javier Morales’ 89th minute goal in last Wednesday’s opening leg, Real Salt Lake earned a 2-2 away draw that put the MLS club in the driver’s seat in the aggregate goals series. The scales might be tipped in RSL’s favor even moreso when considering the Claret-and-Cobalt have not lost a match in 37 overall contests at its Sandy “fortress” of Rio Tinto Stadium, a run that dates back to May of 2009.

Thanks to the even result in Mexico, a win or either a 0-0 or 1-1 draw in Wednesday’s second leg will allow RSL to hoist the continental hardware. Should the match finish 2-2 after 90 minutes, a 30-minute “mini-game” played in its entirety will determine the winner, while kicks from the penalty spot would follow should said mini-game not produce a victor.
