RIVALRY WEEK COVERAGE CONTINUES WITH KYLE WHITTINGHAM COACH’S SHOW TONIGHT AT TROLLEY SQUARE

SALT LAKE CITY (Tuesday, November 23, 2010) – ESPN 700 Sports Radio and the University of Utah Football program are proud to present a special Utah v. BYU “Rivalry Week” edition of the Kyle Whittingham Coach’s Show TONIGHT from 7:00-8:00 p.m. MT at Trolley Square, in advance of Saturday’s kickoff at Rice-Eccles Stadium.


Voice of the Utes Bill Riley hosts “Coach Whitt” and Utes players, who will take questions from both ESPN700 listeners and the fans in attendance as they do each and every week. Riley and his co-host Spencer Checketts welcome former Utes safety Morgan Scalley to break down Utah’s scheme vs. BYU in today’s show, which runs weekdays from 2:00-6:00 p.m. MT. Today’s guests also include BCS Director Bill Hancock, whose thoughts on college football’s bowl system are always provocative.
Utah’s PBS affiliate, KUED, gave fans a chance to kick off “Rivalry Week” in style last night with a well-attended fundraising event in advance of tonight’s debut of the “Red Blood, Blue Blood” film, a 1-hr., 45-min. look at the rivalry “so powerful that office brawls erupt and church pews split.” Legendary coaches Ron McBride and LaVell Edwards were in attendance, as well as former players. ESPN 700 Sports Radio – as it does week-in, week-out – remains the Wasatch Front’s home most insightful local and national sports talk. Every day at 5:10 p.m. MT, Bill & Spence host the “Big Interview of the Day,” with a prominent guest for an extended segment. Each Thursday, Real Salt Lake Founder and former Utah Jazz President Dave Checketts is featured, with a variety of both local and national newsmakers featured throughout the week. Due to the holiday this week, Mr. Checketts will appear on Wednesday at 5:10 p.m. MT.

ESPN 700 Sports Radio is the where the local head coaches and senior decision-makers give their exclusive takes, including Utah Football’s Kyle Whittingham, who joins Bill Riley for weekly coach’s shows, traditionally on Thursday nights. RSL General Manager Garth Lagerwey’s weekly appearance each Wednesday will continue through the 2009 MLS Cup Champions’ offseason, while Utah Basketball’s Jim Boylen can also be heard each week.


Tomorrow night, the Runnin’ Utes’ men’s basketball game at Utah State tips off at 7:00 p.m. MT on ESPN 700 Sports Radio, while Saturday night’s game against Oral Roberts at the Huntsman Center tips off at 7:00 p.m. MT
On Thursday, the Lady Utes begin play in the Caribbean Classic tournament in Cancun against Penn State in a game that can heard LIVE on ESPN 700 at 12:30 p.m. MT On Friday, the Utes women’s hoops team will continue play south of the border against Hartford at 10:00 a.m. – also on ESPN 700 – while Saturday’s tournament closer against Green Bay at 11:00 a.m. can be heard over on sister station AM-570.
Thanksgiving Night, ESPN 700 Sports is your home for the Texas vs. Texas A&M rivalry showdown live from Austin at 6:00 p.m. MT, while an NFL game to be determined will air on Sunday.
Kicking off each day with ESPN Radio’s “Mike & Mike in the Morning” from 4:00-8:00 a.m. MT, ESPN 700’s day continues with “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” from 8:00-11:00 a.m. before “The Dan Patrick Show” runs from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. MT.
