Less than 1,000 tickets for the high-profile showdown remain available, so fans are encouraged to head to www.RealSaltLake.com and www.RioTintoStadium.com to purchase their seats immediately. In addition, patrons can also visit the Rio Tinto Stadium Box Office beginning at 10:00 a.m. MT on Saturday morning to secure their seats for the much-anticipated contest.

Real Salt Lake to Host Breast Cancer Awareness Night as Part of Saturday’s Showdown
As part of MLS W.O.R.K.S.’ month-long, league-wide campaign to help in the fight against breast cancer, Real Salt Lake will “think pink” for Saturday’s contest against FC Dallas at Rio Tinto Stadium by hosting its local “Breast Cancer Awareness Night” to raise awareness and funds for the cause.
In collaboration with MLS corporate partners adidas, American Airlines and Gatorade, Real Salt Lake will ditch the traditional silver “Champion’s Ball” for tomorrow’s pivotal contest in favor of a commemorative pink adidas Jabulani match ball, pink co-branded American Airlines field boards will highlight the Rio Tinto Stadium pitch, and players will use pink sideline towels provided by Gatorade. In addition, players from both RSL and Dallas will wear a special pink MLS W.O.R.K.S. ribbon patch on their jerseys and don pink adidas sweat bands.
“Breast cancer is a serious disease that affects both men and women,” said JoAnn Neale, executive vice president of MLS. “Major League Soccer is proud to collaborate with our clubs, players and corporate partners to raise awareness and support the fight against breast cancer.”
More than 40 game-worn autographed jerseys and special-edition pink match balls from earlier Breast Cancer Awareness matches held across MLS earlier this month are now available for auction online, with RSL-signed items to be added to the list in the days following tomorrow’s contest. Money raised by the auctions will be used to raise funds for breast cancer research and treatment.
Fans that want to match the players’ participation can purchase limited edition Breast Cancer Awareness adidas products – including scarves ($25), wristbands ($10), hats ($18), replica balls ($20), and keychains ($9.99) – at the RSL Team Store at Rio Tinto Stadium. A portion of the proceeds from these sales and proceeds from the online auction will benefit Susan G. Komen for a Cure. RSL Season Ticket Holders will have the added bonus of applying their 25% discount to these items while helping out this worthy cause.

Officer Stevan Gerber Honored as Saturday’s RSL/American Express “Hero Among Us”
Real Salt Lake and American Express are proud to recognize South Jordan Officer Stevan Gerber as Saturday’s recipient of the American Express“Heroes Among Us” award. Officer Gerber has been with the South Jordan Police Department for five years as a member of the SWAT team, and has also been a member of the U.S. Marshal-led Joint Criminal Apprehension Team (JCAT) for just under two years.
On Thursday, August 26, Officer Gerber and other JCAT officers arrived at a South Salt Lake home in an attempt to apprehend a suspect. When officers came through the front door, two shots were fired, one of the bullets hitting Officer Gerber in the leg. Even with heightened stress levels and concern for their colleague, the JCAT members were able to get Officer Gerber out of the house and later apprehend the suspect through negotiations and without returning fire. Officer Gerber was treated by an on-site paramedic and rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery.
Following the successful surgery, Officer Gerber is recovering from the gunshot wound suffered during that suspenseful summer evening. He has shown incredible bravery during his many years of service and has put his life on the line to keep our neighborhoods safe, which is why Real Salt Lake and American Express proudly honor Officer Stevan Gerber as the latest recipient of the “Heroes Among Us” honor.
