Two Western Conference teams -- Real Salt Lake and FC Dallas -- are heading into this weekend with impressive streaks.

FC Dallas will put their streak on the line first when they play at Kansas City on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.

The Hoops have haven't tasted defeat at home or away in 16 consecutive matches, a run that dates back to May 20. But they came pretty close on Wednesday, when the New England Revolution suprisingly took a 2-0 lead into the final 10 minutes of play. FCD, however, were able to claw their way back in and, in a last-gasp effort, forward Jeff Cunningham stuck the game-tying goal into the back of the Revs' net to rescue a tie.

Kansas City, though, come into this match as hot as anyone. Currently sitting outside the playoff picture, the Wizards are motivated and determined to make the postseason and see FCD as the obstacle they must tackle to do so.

Shortly after the game at CommunityAmerica Ballpark ends, Real Salt Lake will put their own streak on the line against the Colorado Rapids at 10 p.m. ET for the Rocky Mountain Cup.

The defending MLS Cup champs have made their home venue, Rio Tinto Stadium, quite an unpenetrable fortress. RSL recently set the MLS record for most consecutive matches without a loss at home by beating the Chicago Fire 1-0 on Sept. 18 to run the streak to 23.

On top of extending their record, RSL will look to take advantage of Los Angeles' loss to New York on Friday to take over the lead for the Supporters' Shield. But the Rapids will look to foil those plans, as they have an agenda of their own.

Colorado want to secure their playoff spot and, in the process, will look to trash RSL's streak.
