Major League Soccer's struggles in Mexico during the CONCACAF Champions League are well known, but for those wondering, here's the setence MLS fans hate to hear. No MLS team has ever won in Mexico during the CONCACAF Champions League or its predecessor, the CONCACAF Champions' Cup.

But MLS' chances to make history begin again on Tuesday, when two of the league's best teams look for that long-awaited breakthrough. The Columbus Crew face Santos Laguna and defending MLS Cup champions Real Salt Lake take on last year's CCL runners-up, Cruz Azul.
