SANDY, Utah (Tuesday,
August 17, 2010) – After
climbing to second place on Major League Soccer’s overall table over the
weekend, Real Salt Lake (11-4-6, 39 pts.) will take a brief hiatus from
regular season play over the next two weeks to concentrate on its first-ever
appearance in the CONCACAF Champions League. The defending MLS Cup
champions will start Group A round-robin play in the regional club championship
tomorrow,Wednesday, Aug. 18, when the Claret-and-Cobalt welcome
Panamanian champs Arabe Unido to Rio Tinto Stadium for an 8:00
p.m. kickoff.
Tickets for Wednesday’s historic
contest in Sandy, which cost just $15 in all seating areas (excluding
Club seats), remain available and can be purchased online at www.RealSaltLake.com and www.RioTintoStadium.com, over the
phone at 801-727-2700, and in person at the Rio Tinto Stadium Box
Office weekdays from 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
Real Salt Lake’s debut in
international competition will be televised live by Fox Soccer Channel,
and CONCACAF.com will also carry a live video feed of the match. Fans
