Real Salt Lake forward Alvaro Saborio started and played 82 minutes for the Costa Rican National Team in a 0-2 defeat to Paraguay in an international friendly this evening in the Paraguayan capital of Asuncion. Paraguay, a quarter-finalist in this summer’s FIFA World Cup in South Africa, used an early goal from Enrique Vera eight minutes in and a 73rd minute tally from Cristian Rivera to push past the “Ticos.” The start for Saborio marked his 56th cap for Costa Rica (22 goals).
