SANDY, Utah (Monday, June 14, 2010)ESPN 700 Radio and its online home of KALL700Sports.com will serve as the places to listen for fans of “The Beautiful Game” across the next month, as the 50,000-watt ESPN Radio affiliate will serve as Utah’s exclusive English language radio home of the 2010 FIFA World Cup from South Africa.


Through the World Cup Final on Sunday, July 11, ESPN 700 will broadcast ESPN Radio’s live feed for 21 contests during the world’s largest sporting event. ESPN 700’s World Cup slate starts with nine matches during the Group Stage, including every second of the USA’s three Group C matches, continuing this Friday, June 18 against Slovenia (7:30 a.m. MT) and concluding next Wednesday, June 23 vs. Algeria (7:30 a.m. MT). ESPN 700 will also carry four Round of 16 matches (June 26 & 27), all four quarterfinal contests (July 2 & 3), and the two semifinal showdowns (July 6 & 7) leading up to the 3rd Place Game on Saturday, July 10, and the Final one day later. ESPN 700’s World Cup coverage doesn’t end there, as Real Salt Lake General Manager Garth Lagerwey will continue the soccer talk into the afternoon with daily appearances on “The Bill & Spence Show” with hosts Bill Riley & Spencer Checketts at 4:20 p.m. MT.
