English midfielder Luke Mulholland signed with Real Salt Lake’s on Jan. 21, 2014. The 25-year-old Mulholland joins RSL after spending the previous two seasons with the NASL’s Tampa Bay Rowdies. The Preston, England native was wildly successful in his two years in Tampa, scoring 17 goals and registering 13 assists in 51 league appearances, helping the team to the 2012 NASL Soccer Bowl title and becoming the first player to be named to the NASL Best XI in back-to-back seasons. Mulholland and RSL goalkeeper Jeff Attinella were teammates in Tampa in 2012.  
 
Professional Career
 
2015: Mulholland added to his load from his first MLS season with 2,329 minutes in 27 starts, making 29 appearances for RSL.  He finished the season with three goals and two assists, highlighted by a three-match point streak from May 9-23 with RSL going 2-1-0 in that stretch.  He made four starts each in CONCACAF Champions League and U.S. Open Cup play as RSL advanced to the CCL quarterfinals and Open Cup semifinals.
 
2014: Mulholland had a tremendous debut season in MLS after two seasons on the NASL Team of the Year with the Tampa Bay Rowdies.  The English midfielder notched six goals and seven assists in 31 matches, 24 of them starts as he acclimated well into the RSL midfield.  He twice had multi-point games, including contributing to both goals in a 2-1 win over Seattle Sounders FC on August 16.  Among newcomers in the 2014 season, Mulholland’s six goals ranked eighth in the league while his seven assists ranked third.
 
2013: Registered another standout season with Tampa, scoring 11 goals and adding seven assists for the Rowdies … Was named to the NASL Best XI for a second-consecutive season for his strong year, becoming the first player in league history to be named to the Team of the Year in back-to-back seasons
 
2012: Signed with the NASL’s Tampa Bay Rowdies on Jan. 24 … Was named to the NASL Team of the Year for a standout season that saw him score six goals and add six assists … Scored the game-winning goal in the NASL semifinals against the Carolina RailHawks to advance the Rowdies to the 2012 NASL Soccer Bowl against Minnesota … Scored the first goal in the penalty kick shootout in the Rowdies’ Soccer Bowl victory against Minnesota … Was a teammate of RSL goalkeeper Jeff Attinella in Tampa
 
2011: Began his professional career with the USL-Pro Wilmington Hammerheads … Scored nine goals in 23 games for the third-division club … Was named USL-Pro Rookie of the Year and earned a spot on the league’s Best XI for his strong season … Played 90 minutes in Wilmington’s 2-0 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup loss at Real Salt Lake on June 28 … Upon conclusion of the USL-Pro season, Mulholland signed with the NASL’s Minnesota Stars, scoring two goals in seven appearances to help the team to the 2011 NASL Soccer Bowl title
