Senior Vice President/Chief Financial Officer
Gary Reimer brings more than 30 years of experience in financial and commercial management to Real Salt Lake and Rio Tinto Stadium, where he is responsible for all financial operations, including reporting, budgeting, business planning, operational reviews, investment analysis and transactional support. Mr. Reimer also works in concert with SCP Worldwide in developing numerous financial models for the team, KALL 700 Sports Radio and Rio Tinto Stadium.
Prior to launching his practice as the owner and principal of The CFO Advantage, a company that provides CFO services to businesses in need of financial leadership, Mr. Reimer was a senior financial executive with the Rudolf Wild Group of Companies, a privately owned multinational German firm in the flavor ingredients and consumer beverage industries for 15 years. From 1992 through 2000, Mr. Reimer was the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer for Wild’s North American group, which included operations in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, playing a key role in the start up and development of Wild’s business in North America, including the acquisition of several companies.
From 1994 through 1996 Mr. Reimer served as the acting COO, overseeing the integration of the key company that became Wild’s North American headquarters. Mr. Reimer was also President of Rudolf Wild of America, a Wild subsidiary responsible for managing its brand license and major supply contracts with the Capri Sun business unit of Kraft Foods, Inc. Capri Sun became one of Kraft’s fastest growing and very successful brands.
Mr. Reimer was responsible for the very successful double-digit growth of the juice brand, leading to the company’s acquisition by Kraft in 1991. Mr. Reimer also played an essential role in Wild’s global M&A activities in Germany, France, the U.K. and Brazil.
Mr. Reimer started his career with the “Big Eight” public accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand (1977 through 1980), where he earned his certification as a CPA. In 1977, Mr. Reimer earned his MBA in Finance and Accounting at UCLA’s Graduate School of Management (now known as the Anderson School of Management), a leading graduate business and management program. He earned his BA in 1975 from Duke University with a double major in English and Economics.
Living in Salt Lake City, Mr. Reimer has participated as a guest speaker on numerous occasions in the University of Utah’s executive education program. He is also the former President of BOOT (Buy Our Own Technology, Inc.), an independent not-for-profit fundraising organization for Indian Hills Elementary School. He is married with three daughters.
